T-BEAMS AND HOLLOW BLOCKS
T-beams and hollow blocks are important components in combination or composite floors. As their name suggests, such floors are made of a number of different elements, including T-beams and hollow blocks (also known as filling elements).
COMBINATION OR COMPOSITE FLOORS ARE MADE BY:
- Laying out concrete beams with filling elements, with additional reinforcement.
- Pouring a layer of concrete on the compounded floor to create a single unit. In doing so, the concrete forms a wedge between the beam and the filling element whilst also acting as a pressure layer.
- Floor struts are placed when assembling a combination or composite floor. Working without the floor struts? Then a combination of pre-stressed reinforcements and lattice beams are used.

A combination floor system can be laid manually and without a crane. It can be used in all types of building, including new buildings and in the renovation of old and/or monumental buildings and at all levels.
T-beams are made by pouring molten metal into T-shaped moulds. This gives them an exceptional amount of dimensional stability. The reinforcement is then pre-stressed, which makes the beams highly effective. The small size of these T-beams means that optimal use is made of the primary resources. In practice, construction elements are placed in parallel, usually with an average interval of 60 cm and in some cases two by two.
